(translucent instead of transparent, frosted, etched, fluted, ground, etc). Typically used in bathroom windows for privacy. Operable Window: Window that can be opened for ventilation. Operator: Crank-operated device for opening and closing casement or jalousie windows. Oriel: A window with the meeting rail located off center of the frame where the top sash is larger than the lower. Most oriels have a 60/40 or 70/30 configuration. Outer Frame Member: The exterior protruding portion of a window frame which has no exterior casing. Overlapping and Interlocking Meeting Rail: A patented meeting rail which overlaps and interlocks both sash.
